Missions and Church Planting

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20 (NIV)

The Bible mandates that we “go and make disciples of all nations.” At Wellspring Church we believe God’s Word and long to see people in our city, our nation and the nations of the world come to know Jesus. His all-surpassing love, His sacrifice on the cross and His power great enough to conquer death and the grave saves each and every one of us and transforms the lives of all who come to know Him. Missions and church planting, therefore, are highly valued at Wellspring. We want all people to come to know Jesus!

Wellspring Church gives financially to support missionaries, missions organizations, local non-profits, new church plants and church-planting teams. Wellspring also offers several opportunities each year for people to go on short-term missions trips. To see a list of some of our ministry partners, click here.

Short-Term Missions

To date, Wellspring members have traveled to the Dominican Republic, Hungary, Sierra Leone, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, India, and Ukraine to share the gospel with those in need. Those who have travelled on a short-term team have found it life-changing as they make a difference in the lives of those they serve. While all our missions trips are evangelistic in nature, we also strive to meet the basic and most practical needs of the people we visit through providing food and supplies, building homes, giving medical support, teaching Christian leaders and schoolchildren and loving on widows and orphans. If you would like more information regarding missions at Wellspring, email Jerry Bowman at jerry@partnersinaction.org.

Wellspring Church is sending a team to the Dominican Republic through 25 Project in the summer of 2017.  If you are interested in serving on this team, click here for more information.

Long-Term Missions

Currently, Wellspring Church supports missionaries serving in Taipei, Taiwan. In addition to our missionaries currently living there, Wellspring Church supports the International Missions Board, 25 Project, City of Joy and other missions organizations that have established locations in multiple countries around the world.

Church Planting

At Wellspring, we believe that part of our mission is helping to launch other churches so that more people who are far from God can come to know the Wellspring of Life, Jesus.  We have been intentional about offering support and training for new church-plants from the earliest days of our church. We are currently supporting a new church that meets in the Verrado area that launched in February 2017 called The Edge Church. To know more about the Edge Church, visit their website here.
