God’s Word Come Alive

God’s Word Come Alive

How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth! I gain understanding from your precepts; therefore I hate every wrong path. Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.   Psalm 119:103-105

In our experiences as a follower of Jesus, we have an opportunity to read God’s Word. As a believer, God’s Word has valuable information that provides focus and allows us to learn and know intimate gems of truth that literally blaze a trail for our lives. As we consider what that trail is and can be, the Holy Spirit internalizes and solidifies for us His will.

Early on in our Christian experience we can fall in love with passages of scripture that give us assurance of the presence of God in our lives. Have you had the experience of having a portion of God’s Word just take over the chord strings of your heart? Oh the privilege of turning to God’s word at literally any time, anywhere and under any circumstances. These sacred words of the Bible have the comfort of God’s Spirit. If we let them, they can take over our emotions, our thoughts and the very fiber of our being!

Whenever I seek God’s forgiveness and His counsel, I like to turn to Isaiah 40:30-31: God gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. I consider these as my life’s verses and find so much comfort in them. I hope you do too today.

Today’s Prayer: Lord God, thank You for Your Word that brings assurance to me that You are real, the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of all the Earth! Please help me to lean on Your precepts and allow Your truth to sink into me and become a lamp for my feet and a light for my path. Please grant me peace and strength for this day, so I might honor You in all that I do and say. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
